I work with a family, both are from India, going through a horrible divorce that involves two children. I'm trying to understand the cultural norms in India...Is it a norm that men, in this case, a physician from India in the U.S., do not talk to their wife as well as their female daughters? In such case, is also an an acceptable "trait" or moral for the man to have an affair, as he is supporting the wife and daughters?

I'm sickenend by this situtation. How can I help this beautiful, loving, caring, educated mother from India? How do I get her connected with someone who can give her a voice in this country, before her children are taken away from her because she doesn't have the fiscal means to pursue her rights? I say he is respected because he has mainstreamed himself into American society, while secluding his wife from doing so.

How can I get her an advocate for her rights, someone that understands her culture and will stand up to our legal system for her sake and the protection of the her children?

No thats not normal. That man must be evil and bad that does not mean that all men or Indian men are such.

You can refer her to a local chapter of Indian female aid organizations which are usually in larger metropolitan areas.

they have to be accepted by the society. Society is responsible to make sex workers whence more people need to be educated and accountable. In India so called responsible Ministers and Govt. Tell that to those who have to put up with it in cases of "domestic violence".
This goes on a fair amoount, but it is not discussed much in the media, because they prefer to make this a minority thing. A case of divide and rule, which india seems to be falling for again.

I feel you are doing a mistake here. You should not seek help from women welfare organisations for this kind of problem. Rather try to educate your family. Convince them that marrying or not marrying is your personal view. As they belong to another generation they may not be able to digest all of your views immediately, however if you spend some time with them and have lenghthy discussions then they will understand and accept their mistake of forcing you for marriage.

If these discussions and convincing doesn't work then you as a next step threaten them that you will use force to change their ideas- and see whether it works,

if it doesn't work then use Police/ legal assistance to teach them a lesson for not understanding you.

Using the women's organisation is certainly a good alternative but I feel you do not need that much assistance for this issue. And also such family members should be taught a lesson by force, not by organisation etc. It is upto you anyway.

You appear to be very sad and helpless in life. You are implying suicidal ideation. The first thing you need to do is to see a Psychiatrist. The earlier the better.

You may have underlying depression which can make a person not interested in marriage. May be why you don't want marriage is due to a different reason, but if it is due to depression then antidepressant drugs can produce enormous pleasure in your life and you may even consider marriage and attempting to taste the marital bliss.

I believe that female prostitution is very good business. I my self worked as prostitute & earned good money.This business helped me , my family & relatives.I support joint family of 33 members. I was the only bread earner till last year when my young daughter joined this business.Poor countries has chance to reduce poverty by allowing/licensing this business.
