I think inter-religion marrage between Muslium,Hindu and Sikh is acceptable. I feel we should not overemphasize the sterotypes and atrosities of the past generations,because this occurs in all societies. We must make choices that suit us in a modern world. All the people who have posted in the last year are Punjabi's thats the key word "Punjabi", common language unities us. It should not divide us as we will live our lives in countries "foriegn" to our parents.
I recently attended a diversity conference in Minnesota. The conference was excellent, and the purpose to enlighten those in attendance was met. My collegue and I attended a session on Samali people while we were at the conference. When learning about the terrable life they had before comming here, we were glad they could be safe here. we work arround a variety of people from a large mix of cultures and religions,including muslium. What the speaker went on to tell us has us all concerned for the welfare of the Samali wemen being brought here. It is understandable to have others practice their religious beliefs,however we clearly heard religious laws that will break federal human rights laws in the united states. I along with others intend to monitor the human treatment of these wemen while in the u.s.

People of all religions are far too angry, think before you speak. I am a muslim male who has sikh brothers aswell as muslim brothers. I would not think of chasing Sikh girls or Muslim girls. If its one thing we have in common it is the importance of respect especially with women in our cultures. And for those of you who blame muslims for chasing young sikh women i would say it might be true. But also that Sikh men and hindu men are just as bad. We are all as bad as each other so there is not point in blaming each other.
Another point is that these women/girls have been brought up following a religion and they will know whats allowed and what would upset there parents but they will still carry on messing around with men from all religious background. REMEMBER it takes two to tango and I think alot of these girls love to tango.
and as for asian men as a whole its embarassing when I have been out with friends and groups of asain men act like dogs chasing women. Do you not feel ashamed of your behaviour. Each and everyone of you whether you are muslim or hindu or even sikh represent your religion if you behave like animals then it is your religion that will suffer. Remember this, every action you carry out always has a direct consequence.

I am Canadian woman who has just started dating a Muslim man. We have been dating for 2 months now. I am learning alot about the Muslim culture. The man I am dating is the most caring/educated/thoughtful man I have dated in a long time. I have read through alot of these (hate) letters and I am disgusted with all of it. I think it takes an ignorant person to write such ignorant things. No wonder we have so much hate in this world. I’m not going to quote from any books to argue my point, but let’s think about it for one second JUST using some common sense. Christians claim that Islam wiped out Christianity throughout the Middle East and North Africa with the sword, but can they explain why there are 10 million Christians living in Egypt, and in Iran and Iraq, there small communities of Jews (we all know Muslims hate Jews). If I am correct, we Muslims are suppose to hate other people of other faiths, but how comes these non-Muslims residing in Muslim countries have not been wiped out?
Again the same argument can be used in refuting the absurd myth that Muslim rulers were ruthless against other people of other faiths. It was the British who cleverly managed to take rule of India from the Muslim rulers, not Sikh worriers or any other mythical legend you have been told of! Even British sources tell us that Muslim rulers were the most kind hearted people to rule India, and they even state clearly that it was THEM that caused all the problems after they came and drained India of its wealth and natural resources.
Onto another point - I don’t know why you people hate Pakistanis I myself am a British born Bangladeshi, I’ve been told the awful things that Pakistani soldiers did to my people in 1971, but how comes I’m not bitter? The reason: I cannot blame individual Pakistanis for what their people did.

I have read most of the views given above. Thanks!! I wish to share a few of my own. I hope they are of use.
None of my views are directed in favour, OR against any community. This is becuase I feel that this is a problem of "MAN with HIMSELF". Its got nothing to do with either religion, women or society.
I am Gurmeet (M/30/Bombay), and have met many wonderful women in my life. I feel that a woman is man's best friend, and vice versa. This relationship can enable both get the most out of life. And sexual satisfaction is just one aspect in this.
I have had affairs with both non-sikhs and sikhs. In both cases, the women have been great. Though when we talked about marriage, the FEAR of disobeying ones culture and family was the major deciding factor.
I feel that, though all humans are the same, if the couple lives in the fear of the opinion about others, and, also does not have a "personal private formula" for life long happiness, then whether they are of the same community OR not, things wont work out for them in the long run.
Its also my personal observation that when girls marry out of community,its mostly becuase they have not got the desired affection from their own community
and also that their own parents have not set a good example of a harmonious lifestyle.
So it is natural that they will look elsewhere for love, recognition and appreciation.
Also as noone is born with a COMMUNITY STAMP on their forehead, I think that one is free to go where one gets LOVE
Saying this, I am also aware that there are GROUPS of people who are trying to misuse this scenario to their personal advantage, by TRAPPING such innocent and love-deprived women into their community. during mughal period muslim princes would marry hindu women even the common muslim married hindu women. but nowadays hindus object to this practice bcos muslims are considered to be foreighners. during the mughal period they were considered to be natives of india and such it didnt bother the hindus afterall an indian was marrying another indian! you see all south asian muslims are the descendents of hindus who either converted to islam or married in to a muslim family, they are not immigrants, they are as indian as any hindu or sikh!

the only asian race that the british couldnt beat were the afghans, they won both the afghan wars, defeating a major superpower and its sikh and hindu cannon fodder soldiers with great ease. they were the only asians to have never been colonised.

u sikhs talk of kargil.it took entire companies of indians 2 destroy paki posts,that were manned by as fe as 20 peopl...u call yrslves warriors..read abt the 2 paki soldiers who got the highest military awards,on the recommendation of the indians.thats bravery.v dont brag abt r bravery..when onez opposing armies talk abt onez bravery,thats wat its all abt...evn the indian army officers said paki soldiers wood rathr die than surrender...the only thing u lot r good at is talking,& lying 2 the resy of yr country..ask the indian soldiers who hav fought against us,& dont go by the crap propaganda yr media dishes out 2 satisfy yr so calld regional super-power.

hey has anyone noticed the increase in number of people who convert to islam whenever the muslims go to war! it seems like allah is replacing those muslims who perished in conflict.
and does anyone know what happened to the 30 000 american soldiers who converted to islam during the gulf war? i heard they resigned their commission but were are they? have they returned to civilian life to convert their girlfreinds and wives? or are they in afghanistan with bin laden?
If you study all the religions properly with a nuteral frame of mind you will come to know that all the meesengers came with the same messege but it is we the people who have created different religions. I am a muslim who was a sikh before but islam teaches us to respect all human beings off all races and religions because truth has been made clear from falsehood. worship and obey the one and only lord off the all that exists before death comes to you all. please study all the religions and dont blind follow your parents. worship your creator not creation. the religion that gives all the answers to every single thing in life is islam. it is a complete religion. the rest is your choice and your piont of view but be very carefull of what you say about anyone will your lord be happy with you when you die

please attempt to answer at least one question from the above qouting from your holy books! islam has answers to all the above questions wether you agree with the solutions offered by islam is entirely up to you but at least solutions to problems have been documented, 1400 hundred years ago!
hey..i'm a hindu going out with a muslim gurl (pakistani)..and we r getting married nxt month because she is pregnant!! we done it several times before in the university days but i always made sure i was protected..but all of a sudden i found out that she was pregnant!! so as i luv her soooo much..we had to tell our parents and get married!! at first they flipped...but then there was no other way but to get married!! so we all happy!! my family and her family show it..but frm the inside we knw that they r not! so we have decided to buy a separate house away frm them!! she is also interested in Hinduism..so i am having no troubles there either!! she doesn't mind having a hindu name for the child as she wants to 4get her past islamic life!! so guys and gurls...u get sum intelligent ppl out there...e.g. my babe..and u get idiots out there!! oh yeh...those that think paki gurls r ugly...look around more..especially one's from oxford!! truss they have the best bodies eva!!

You live by the holy quran. You are not allowed to question the quran!
The Sikh holy book is a way of life. We question the Guru Granth Sahib because it has so much meaning and having an open mind will bring understanding. Each word In the Guru Granth Sahib has so many different meanings you really have to be open-minded.
The questions you ask, Why would the Guru Granth Sahib talk about Business and trade, why talk about Crime, Why talk about Prostitution, Why talk converting, why talk about cloning and medical ethics.
Sounds like a way of teaching how to keep everything in the family.

What solutions does your holy book offer on leaving or entering Sikhism? We don’t convert! Not leaving and entering there are no doors for this as Islam has! People who enter Sikhi do it to be truthful to them self. People are not forced and we do not find ways and means to convert people. We are born a Sikh and then convert to an Amritari by CHOICE.

Answer: My religions doesn't even talk about it. Hinduism in older than Islam. It was the first religion of World. It doesn't even allows premarital sex. Where was your religion when a group of policeman Raped about 15woman in Pakistan in market in front of everybody?? Those women had to die becuase they were raped?? They even didn't do anything and had to die. Where was your religion when your 65 year old prophet Mohammed married a 13year-old girl just to increase the population?? Where was your religion when these muslims crased two planes in world trade center and one plane in Pentagon killing over 6500 americans?? You idot, convert to hinduism, it's so much peace in this religion then Islam.
I have seen 90% of Muslims who are just after thier religion. They want every body to convert to muslims. Why can't you muslims mind your own business and leave everybody. You guys are sick by your religions. I think all islam does is brainwash people and teach them that it's the best. it limits their thinking. I don't even talk to these 90% muslim. I am in USA right now. I never saw muslims in India getting hard time becuase they are muslims. But Hindus in pakistan get very hard time just becuase they are hindu. I have about the same idea as you about Muslims. I dont disrespect them for no reason. I do have a few muslim friends. I know that a muslim is never wrong and offers millions & millions of sermons and stories on the great creator, God.
The answer is simple 'why doesent other holy religous books offer solutions and thoughts on prostitution, alcholism, Rape etc etc. The answer is because we are not muslim and you cant except we are different this is why all the world who are non muslims are questioning the Koran in regards to being brainwashed and limited thoughts.
Let me just say Sikhi is a way of life, we are not limeted to how much we think but infact have to keep an open mind in understanding.
