Hi! I got a question for you all. According to Indian system of horoscope, three elements are require to 'seal' your fate: date, time and place of birth. Given the advances in the sciences of conception including gene selection, control over embryo development and the process of birth itself, what is left out of human control? Nothing. Basically, it would mean that a child can be given birth at the desired date, time and place to match it with the 'best horoscope' possible. Please don't tell me that time of bith can not be controlled, for a surgeon could do that through a c-sec at the precise time. Just be prepared to pay a bundle for the troubles of such a birth.
Since the astrological predictions are claimed to be purely mathematical functions, they should be unalterable but we can customise the birth to get the best possible horoscope, right?!
I can't wait to have kids with 'customised horoscope' and make them Gandhis, Hitlers and Slick Willies!!
| By Jat Punjabi on Wednesday, June 16, 1999 - 03:46 am: |
yoyo,
It would be difficult to have customized children based upon astrology because children are not necessary born within a fixed period of time after they are conceived. In other word, you can't pinpoint the exact time of birth and astrology is based upon exact time of birth, not that I know anything about astrology. But, you could probably customize children by cloning. All you have to do is to find some famous person's DNA.

Remember the surgeon with good hands? Why bother if the child was forced out of the womb before the time nature intended. At least the kid will have shot at being whatever tailored horoscope predicts.

Dear All,
Going thru the past few letters, I feel that there is a lot of confusion and a little ignorance too among the writers here including myself. It is time for a genuine expert in astrology to take on matters and give a detailed reply to these questions.
So, I request a real astrology 'guru' to come forward and give convincing solutions to the above queries, otherwise I will be reading prototype confusing questions repeatedly in this forum. Right?

Greetings and Radhasoami
No two persons are alike. Not even twins.
Astrology provides information relating to influences of planetary movements upon people and the general trend of events based upon planetary positions from time to time.
However a human being is not affected only by planetary positions. Man (woman)is born with his / her individual ego, mind, intelligence, and each one undergoes unique experiences in his / her life right from conception and also carries impressions of past life experiences.
His behaviour or responces are therefore guided by several factors including astrological positions. But astrology governs merely 25% of the human behaviour. Other factors put together are more powerful. So many predictions based on astrology alone turn incorrect. This includes partnership in marriage or business.
There is no astrologer in the world who has 100% accuracy record 100% of the time. Best results are between 60 to 80% accuracy.
For compatibility analysis many aspects have to be looked into apart from astrological influences.
It is said that if two persons think alike all the time then one of them is un-necessary.
Mind set of each partner, basic desires, intelligence level, assumed life purpose and priority, education, family background and culture, financial status, individual aspirations, fears, tensions, and other psychological aspects, perceived notions of happiness, observed relations between parents and others, etc. are all contributary factors towards harmony or disharmony in marriage.
To analyze all these factors, an astrologer is just not equipped.
I have had experience of Pendulum Dowsing for analyzing compatibility levels between any two persons or groups with amazing degree of success.
Has any one in this group any experience of dowsing for compatibility?

Dear Kirti Betai,
Greeting to you sir and my apologies that I am pointing this out. When you attach word Radhasoami with your greetings and then you talk about astrology, it almost sounds to an ordinary reader that you follow Radhasoami mat and also believe in astrology. In other word, it sends a wrong message to the readers. Some people might think that Radhasoami mat has something to with astrology which would be a wrong assumption. Although I am not too much into Radhasoami mat (not that I believe there is anything wrong with being Radhasoami), I have a whole bunch of relatives following Radhasoami mat at Dera Beas and as far as I know Radhasoami mat has nothing to with astrology. Then again, I might be wrong. But, my understanding is that preachers at Radhasoami mat in Beas strickly simplify Gurbani from Guru Granth Sahib and/or teachings of other great religious people from different religions.
Take care

Hi Everybody
I don't know how many of you will agree with me.
An astrologer predicts one's fate but cannot control it(including his).
Let me give you an example,
When I was 14 I had been to south India trip(an arranged tour)with my parents. We met an elderly couple in the bus.It was day 4
and we came to know that the husband was an astrologer (a learned one).I don't remember exactly who initiated it but that person read my palm.I still remember his words "Even though you are intelligent you won't finish you studies in time" "You will marry very early" "you will settle down in a foreign country" "but you will complete your studies in later years" . Is it Very pleasing or what?
After the 10 days trip no body gave a thought about those thing it was all child's play.
After that I finished my 7th,10th,12th,1st year B.S.C with a very good marks.I got married in my 2nd year B.S.C ,came with my hubby to Canada. It's like almost 4 years since I left Bangalore.
3 out of 4 prediction became true HOPE the last one
Will become true too.
A mom & wife

Can anybody help me out ?
I am a 25 yr. old Indian guy, a graduate student in USA. I am in love with an Indian
girl of different culture, and at first both parents were okay with it. My parents
live in India and her parents in USA. Unfortunately, when the girls parents sent
their horoscopes to my parents, some computer astrology prediction said that the
horoscopes dont match. My parents went to a jyotish for a second opinion, but that
was not very fruitful either. So they say, since the horoscopes dont match, it is
best to forget it. But how can one just forget two years of relationship when nothing
has gone wrong between us? Her parents however still want the marriage. I really dont know what to do. I can not pick between my
parents or the girl because I love both equally. I would like to get a professional
astrology consultation myself. I want to know if there is any puja or fasting that
can be done, so that the marriage can still go on. Can anyone help me with this
please? i will furnish the exact time and date of birth if required. I am a student
and I cannot pay much. Thank you in advance,
An anxious worried person.

Just forget all this horoscope bullshit and go ahead and marry this girl. After a few days your parents will certainly forget the past and welcome both of you. After all, you are still marrying an Indian girl, not a white American girl. If you don't marry your girl friend and dump her, her curses will do you more harm than anything else. You would be foolish to do pujas to overcome the horoscope defect. Remember - you make your fate, nothing else.

I can't believe people still believe in this horoscope stuff.
Anonymous, just marry her. Try talking to your parents. But, their disapproval shouldn't stop you from marrying her

Dear Mr A
Don't worry about the Non matching of the gunas.
Check out the no. gunas you are able to match with
the girl. You don't have to have too many of them. Pandits generally allow marriage with small no. of matching if both the boy and the girl are ready knowing the differences between them. There can also be a problem of being Manglik. There are pujas held to lessen the forseen problem.
1. To increasing matchingor to decrease the nonmatching effect some puja of 33000 mantras is held.
2. For a manglik case the subject marriage is done
with a plant (AAK) few days of actual marriage so that the plant take the whole negative effect
If you don't believe in this stuff then don't go believing it.Just be clear in your mind and she should also be.If you both are happy , your parents won't mind. Give it sometime. Make your parents believe that both of you truely love eachother and it is not just an infatuation.
Myself is from Punjab and an engineering graduate student in Canada.

MINE IS A MARRIAGE IN TROUBLE.
GOT MARRIED JUST 6 MTHS BACK, MY WIFE HAS A LOT OF GUILT IN HER ABOUT HER EARLIER LIFE, HER FRIENDS CIRCLE, HER BAD HEALTH, HER POOR FAMILY BACKGROUND, AND OTHER FAMILY ISSUES. I AM OPEN MINDED AND ACCEPT THAT ANY EDUCATED GIRL CANNOT REMAIN WITHOUT SOCIAL LIFE -NO ISSUES ON MY PART.
TO OVERCOME HER GUILT AND INFERIORITY COMPLEX, SHE
DOMINATES ME A LOT. SHE ALSO IS A PESSIMIST AND DOES NOT TRUST ME. SHE HAS TRIED COMMITING SUICIDE IN HER COLLEGE DAYS IN RETALIATION TO A QUARREL WITH HER FATHER. SHE ALSO THREATENS TO COMMIT THE SAME WHENEVER I DISAGREE WITH HER ON ANY ISSUE. SHE ALSO IS NOT ENJOYING GOOD HEALTH JUST BECAUSE OF HER HABITS. ANY ATTEMPT TO IMPROVE HER RESULTS IN ARGUMENTS AND SHE ANYWAY DOES NOT GIVE AN EAR TO ANY OF MY SAYINGS. SHE ALSO THREATENS ME THAT SHE SHALL WRITE A SUICIDE NOTE SAYING THAT I AM DOWRY CRAZY. MY MOTHER STILL TAKES CARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD, SHOPPING, COOKING ETC BUT MY WIFE AVOIDS WORK ON SOME HEALTH GROUND OR THE OTHER. I HAVE TRIED SPEAKING TO HER PARENTS BUT THE ARE BIASED AND ARE NOT WILLING TO CO-OPERATE. PLEASE HELP ME TO EASE TENSIONS IN MY HOUSEHOLD

to anonymous,
Please try to seek help from a marriage counselor and talking of suicide, i hope her primary care physician knows about her threats. The minds of some people are too complicated for us to understand. Sometimes religious ceremonies at home or having children helps, but this takes time and sometimes could worsen the situation. Maybe she is in a culture shock. And if she does not trust you for no reason, then her mind is probably psychologically messed up. In some cases, one of our own family members or a close relative would fill the ears of newlywed wives to rebell especially when a mother-in-law is in the house.

Hi everyone,
I am from Trinidad & Tobago and of Indian descent.
Quite recently, I was introduced to a girl by her uncle for marrage sake, not my idea though.
After talking with her, she fell in love with me and wants to get married with me. She is thirty three and a half and I, thirty.
Her mother approves of me and wants us to date, but they want to check planets by the daughters' god father first. The girls' father is also a pundit.
They gave my name and age. After checking they said that we are not compatible and the age difference. Also, that I will be affected by "Rahu & Kethu". This message was conveyed to me by the uncle. I am very dissapointed in the manner in which they did the check. For starters, they did not consult me. They don't know my Rassi name, date and time of birth. How the hell could the pundit read my planet correctly? Even the girl and her mother, after comming from a religous background - how gullable they are to everything the pundit says?
I know that she loves me, and I think that I'm falling in love with her. Don't know what to do!
Maybe I should tell her that her so-called godfather is ignorant and that he should not dicide your happiness.
Could somebody help me out here? I am anxious and worried.
Thanks.

I am not sure if one should believe in stars, planets ect and Astrology. Astrology is a science and one should not take it very seriously to make decision in everydays life.
I believe one should believe in oneself and try to take out all impurities from within. Make a very good person in todays world.

THE LARGER ISSUE HERE IS WYHAT AMOUNT OF INFLUENCE ASTROLOGY WILL HAVE ON OTHER DECISIONS IN THE HOME AFTER MARRIAGE. PREDICTIONS ACCEPTED THROUGH ASTROLOGY CAN STILL BE IN ERROR. TRUE LOVE IS NOT BASED ON RECOGNIZABLE EXAMPLES OF COMPATIABILITY OR OBVIOUS EXAMPLES TO THE PUBLIC. WHAT IF THE TWO OF YOU WERE A PERFECT MATCH ACCORDING TO BACKGROUND, RELIGION, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION, EDUCATION ETC. ,BUT DID NOT LIKE EACH OTHER ? TRUST YOUR HEART AND ENJOY COMMUNICATION TOGHETER......LEARN EACH OTHERS ATTITUDES AND ACCEPT EACH OTHERS DIFFERENCES .
ASTROLOGY IS BASED ON RANDOM OCCURENCES THAT OFTEN SHOW PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR , BUT SO IS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. BOTH METHODS COULD LEAD TO THE SAME CONCLUSIONS THROUGH DIFFERENT MEANS. HERE THE SITUATION INVOLVES AN UNINFORMED GUESS OR GUT FEELING ABOUT YOU WITHOUT FULL KNOWLEDGE OR EFFORT. THIS OF COURSE CAN NOT BE RELIED ON EVEN IF THE ASTROLOGER IS RELATED. AFTERALL, CAN ASTROLOGY PREDICT HOW LONG YOU WILL LIVE, THE PERMANENT STATE OF YOUR HEALTH, YOUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE SUCCESS IN LIFE OR YOUR OWN ACTIONS IN LIFE 20 YEARS FROM NOW ? I THINK NOT !
THE STRENGTH OF FAMILY TIES TO THE GOD FATHER SHOULD BE APPRECIATED WITH RESPECT ,BUT NOT RELIED ON IN ANY SERIOUS MANNER.....THERE IS A HIGHER AUTHORITY THAN MAN ! HE ALONE KNOWS YOUR DESTINEY AND DOES NOT NEED ASTROLOGY. BESIDES...WHO WOULD MARRY IF THEY KNEW EVERY DIFFICULTY THAT MAY OCCUR. MARRY HER...LOVE HER.....FIND STRENGTH THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE....LIFE AWAITS THE TWO OF YOU !

Hello everyone,
I have a question, can anyone help me? I have been told astrologers that I am a "manglik." What exactly is a manglik? I was born in India on July 4, 1974. Does that mean I can only marry a guy who is a manglik? I am very confused. Can anyone help? My e-mail is DTNY21@aol.com. Thanks!

Hi everyone , I am another very confused person. I am involved with someoneone for past three years.we love each other very much and it took us seven months to make our parents agree to get us married. I recently came to know that i am a "manglik". My family believes that this thing finishes after a certain perion of time and my partners family belives its for life long. we two do not want to lose each other at any cost but we are really scared to get married because of what everyone has told about about a manglik getting married to a non-manglik. then it was finally decided that our parents will match our kindalis and if it is matched and pandit approves on manglik thing then its ok. i want to know that is there a solution that we can use so we can get married regardless of the fact our kundalis match or not. Or is it possible to get married in the first place. please mail me on guesswhatsr@hotmail.com

This is my first visit to this website/page. It is very obviously filled with many 'Indian' problems, and not supprisingly, I have glimpsed the words: fate, astrology and parents a few hundred times, but the word 'love' hardly appears? Does anyone else find this odd when talking of the the subjects of marriage and life-long commitment?

Is there any validity in astrology as practiced by westerners? the reason i'm asking is because i'm a male and a pisces, and my girl friend, is a aries.
At least 3 of my sources that i've read about this kind of alliance says that it will be very hard for this to work out. Any opinions?
finally, those sources that i've read seems accurate, and also, they are very much prone to errors, though. please email me at highway.star@excite.com
